When I interviewed some of my patients and asked them, ‘What makes you go off a diet or crash on a diet?’ Pretty much every one of them said was the biggest thing for me was I started craving sugar and so this something that is kind of a big roadblock for anybody who is trying to lose weight, burn fat, get fit.
Based on that, sugar is the root of all evil when it comes to weight loss. So it doesn’t really matter if you don’t want to avoid it. You just have to do it to be able to lose the weight.
Why You Have To Avoid It

So aside from the typical white sugar you need to avoid, you also need to avoid certain foods and drinks that have added sugar. It really is a lot harder than you think because the list of foods to avoid gets longer and longer.
As it is, you are already getting a sufficient supply of sugar from all the fruits, vegetables, starches, and meats that are in your diet. That’s enough. You really need to keep an eye on all the foods that you eat. The best way to do it is to read the labels. After all, there is sugar in all kinds of foods. Whether it’s natural or processed food, there is sugar in it. Although the sugar in natural foods isn’t as bad, you still need to watch it because your body really doesn’t need all that sugar especially if you are trying to lose weight.
So start reading the labels and stay away from foods that have added sugars. Although that could be very tedious, you have to do it.

It takes a lot to avoid sugar. It’s almost in every kind of food we love to eat. When it comes to sugar intake, I think it’s better to limit it than avoid it. That way, you can have certain days when you can enjoy it. it won’t feel like you’re depriving yourself of it.
It just takes some getting used to but it is possible to avoid sugar. I have been able to do it for about a year now. I take my coffee black now. If I want to something sweet, I scoop up a tablespoon of raw honey and mix it with some rolled oats. Then I put it in the oven for a quick granola-style treat.
Honey is a good alternative to sugar but you need to choose the raw kind. It has less sugar and more nutrients and enzymes.
I totally understand that. Sugar cravings are hard to avoid. There’s got to be one day in week to give into it.
Sugar is bad but it’s hard to live without it. I tried avoiding it but I still crave for some sweets. So I usually indulge during the weekend. I try to be good on regular days 🙂 .
